Work Like Everyone Is Watching 📺
Whether you are running a business, going to a job, staying at home all day with the kids you are putting in work.
I wanted to write this article to encourage you to put in the work as if you had a whole host of humans watching you 👀.
I know that might sound a little creepy at first, but let's take a moment to unpack this and look at the deeper meaning behind it.

I am not sure if you have heard this phrase, but it is a phrase I have tried to model a lot of my life after...
Character is who you are when no one is watching
This is a little superficial at first, I am sure a few people already closed this article 😅 (Guess I should have written faster).
It is true that character is who you are when no one is watching 100% I believe that to be true. Do you throw that candy wrapper on the ground? Do you call out sick when you're doing "A Plus". How you act when there is no accountability shows your true character.
Every action we take is like a "Rep" 💪 of weight that we are doing. Sometimes the weight is bigger and sometimes smaller. Another benefit of acting with integrity and character is that we practice good "form".
Are we putting in the right decisions when the stakes are little?
Because one day people will be watching, people will be seeing your true character, and maybe you were not ready for it.
Example A for me...I had kids. These little humans are with me literally EVERYWHERE I go 😅. They follow me outside, to the car, to each and everything I do. They are watching me and the decisions I make, I gained an audience. I am thankful that for the last 20+ years I have been practicing my form. Because tell you what, I have made boundless errors and that's with consistent practice.
Example B for me... I started a blog. I am learning what to write about, what to say and what not to say, I am spending the time researching and caring about this. Well, it helps that I believe in it 🙂, but I am practicing. I am flexing those muscles because one day I hope to have an audience. I want people watching and viewing. When I do, I have better put in the time and effort to improve.
If you want to run a company or a department, the actions you take now should be emulating the actions you want the people to see (When they appear). If you do it right they will appear, so waiting to make the "right" decisions is the wrong choice.
Make the decisions about how to design the app with the future in mind. Make the decisions about your next hire in light of scaling your organization. Make the next decision to save your business money and not waste it on "The Newest Tech".
Work on making the decisions today, as if the people are right there with you. Because one day, regardless of what you decide, you just might get that audience. Trust me, you don't want to start working out for the first time in your life in front of a whole host of people that think you are "Fit".
The best part about life is that regardless of the choices you have made in the past, you are in charge of the choices you make in the future.
So if you are feeling like you need to start emulating a better version of yourself, then you 100% can! Life is hard, we all make mistakes, we all fail to make the right decision. It's what you do next that really can make a difference.
